How to keep from getting bored.

I hate getting bored! I try to keep myself as busy as possible or at least my mind as busy as possible. When things start to become too easy or too repetative I start discover new options. The strongest business for the most amount of change is the Information Technology Industry. Software, hardware, computer languages, business solutions, etc are always moving, changing, upgrading or improving. I think that is why I started in this business. I like the changes and the consistant "Chaos". It may not be Chaos in the true sense of the definition, but it is a form of it.

This industry is highly reactive; even when things are changing proactively. For example: A computer needs to have a faster processor, larger hard drive, and more memory to keep up with the current game or other software. One company will build the hardware technology to the specs of the software then the other companies will scramble to meet or beat the first company's technology. Software companies then become aware that they can build more into their software because the hardware now has the resources to handle it's design. In the search for the bigger better mousetrap, they begin to build past the hardware specifications and start the cycle over again.

This is why we in the IS/IT industry are always smiling (at least in the inside). We realize that "Chaos" and change keep us working.
